Our client a top-tier financial services firm is seeking an experienced Internal Control Assistant Vice President (AVP) in Jacksonville, FL. This role offers the opportunity to oversee operational controls, drive risk mitigation initiatives, and manage regulatory reporting responsibilities. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in financial operations, expertise in internal control frameworks, and a proactive approach to regulatory compliance, including proficiency in 15c3-3 regulatory reporting and reconciliation processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Internal Controls Management
- Develop, implement, and maintain a robust internal control framework across financial operations.
- Monitor and review operational discrepancies, including break reconciliations for fixed-income securities, ensuring prompt and accurate resolution.
Reconciliation Oversight
- Manage daily reconciliation processes for trade breaks, ensuring accuracy and alignment with financial records.
- Investigate and resolve aged reconciliation items, identifying root causes and implementing preventive measures.
- Collaborate with front-office and back-office teams to address exceptions and streamline reconciliation workflows.
- Implement and enhance automated reconciliation tools to improve efficiency and reduce errors.
15c3-3 Regulatory Reporting
- Oversee the preparation, review, and submission of 15c3-3 regulatory reports, ensuring compliance with SEC requirements.
- Ensure accurate segregation and safeguarding of client funds and securities in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
- Maintain detailed documentation and processes for regulatory audits and examinations.
- Collaborate with compliance and audit teams to address any findings related to regulatory reporting.
Risk Assessment & Mitigation
- Identify, assess, and mitigate operational risks, developing strategies to minimize potential financial and reputational impacts.
- Establish and monitor Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) to support effective decision-making and reporting.
Regulatory Compliance
- Oversee regulatory compliance efforts, including coordinating abandoned property reporting across multiple business lines.
Process Improvement
- Drive process optimization initiatives, leveraging automation and technology to improve efficiency and reduce operational risks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and enhance operational performance.
Qualifications:
Experience
- 6+ years of experience in financial operations, internal controls, or risk management, with a strong focus on fixed-income securities.
- Familiarity with 15c3-3 regulatory reporting requirements and reconciliation processes.
- Experience with regulatory audits and control reporting within the financial services industry.
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
